Karsten Sween

Staffing Director- Inland Empire / High Desert

FCA changed my life in college at the University of Wyoming. FCA grew me in my faith and FCA trained me to go make disciples. I have seen FCA impact thousands of lives since 2010 when I came on staff. In 2017, God called me to California from Colorado to serve as the County Director for the Inland Empire.

My heart is to see thousands of coaches and athletes impacted for Christ. In order to see this accomplished we need more staff.

Staff train leaders to go make disciples of Jesus Christ. We need staff so we can minister to and through coaches and athletes to see our communities transformed into the image of God. This effort glorifies God, and nothing brings me more joy than glorifying my Father in Heaven. Another area that brings God glory is loving my wife and loving my kids. Here's a little bit about them.

My wife and i have been married for over 11 years and we have 3 children. They are amazing kids! They are starting full time school and in 2017 they started to experience FCA through summer Power Camps. God is so good and we look forward to serving him here in California, our HOME STATE.

Phils Sabordo

Area Representative- Temecula

Phils Sabordo has been on staff with FCA since 2012. He grew up in SW Riverside County and went to high school at Temescal Canyon in Lake Elsinore. He then went to college at UCLA where the Lord deepened his walk and relationship with Jesus. With aspirations to become a lawyer, God had opened the door and an opportunity to become a part of the FCA ministry. He currently resides in Temecula and serves 12 campus ministries throughout SW Riverside. He has a beautiful wife, Isabella and a handsome young boy, Noah James. Phils has a compassionate heart to reach the lost, broken, and unsaved in SW Riverside and is blessed to be a part of a ministry whose vision is about impacting lives and hearts for Jesus Christ. Phils has a heart to serve, mobilize, and equip young leaders to be effective servants on their campuses and community for Christ. His hope is to see SW Riverside impacted for Christ where lives are saved, revived, and purposed through a newfound relationship with our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Area Rep- Riverside

My vision for FCA is to point athletes and coaches toward their ultimate coach, Jesus Christ. I desire to be a presence on middle and high school campuses to empower and equip athletes as leaders to impact their teams. Growing up, soccer was a major part of my life whether that was training, practicing, or competing. It became priority one, pushing Jesus to the side. Once I started attending California Baptist University and no longer had soccer in my life, I wanted to understand what it meant to have a real relationship with the Lord. I desire students to recognize that their identity is deeper than the sports that they play. I have a heart for students and pushing them toward discipleship. My goal with FCA is to create an environment for coaches and athletes to learn how to live missional for the Gospel and be real with themselves, God, and others.

I can’t wait to partner with you to see what we can do on these various campuses in the Inland Empire! Thank you for joining my team! I am excited to see how the Lord is going to move through coaches and athletes.

Aniel Chua

Area Rep- Temecula & Murrieta

have been involved with FCA since my sophomore year of high school in 2012. By my senior year, God gave me the opportunity to serve Him by taking ownership of the club as a student club president. Since then, God has stirred a fire in my heart to come alongside coaches and athletes from my experience with FCA. I enjoy the special relationships God has blessed me with in ministry.

I grew up in Temecula where I played Varsity Football for Great Oak High School class of 2015. I also played basketball, wrestling and track and field. Sports has a special place in my heart which led me to coach football in the Fall of 2017.

I love and cherish my parents Jun and Rina Chua, my older brother Arhon and my little brother (favorite) Adridge.

I have been a volunteer in FCA for four years and just recently came on staff on 2017. I serve in the Temecula and Murrieta areas in four public high schools consisting of 200 students.

My goal is to see young souls in my hometown won by the power of the Gospel!

I got involved with FCA my senior year at San Jose State. FCA allowed me to be in communion with other athletes and to experience the community God wants us to be in with other believers. I reconnected with FCA in 2018 when I volunteered at an FCA college challenge camp. After that camp I knew that God was calling me to be apart of FCA staff!

I feel like there are athletes who feel the same way I felt when I was in gymnastics, thinking that their sport is who they are. I want to help those student-athletes to know that our identity is through Christ and not our sport. I want to help these athletes know that they can still live for God and play their sport to the best of their ability with God. I am excited to work with you and hope you can help support me in helping these athletes know, that their identity is through Christ and not their sport.
